i'm reading left to right
i'm thinking black and white
identifying with
blinking

black manga eyes

can deeply recognize
that fear
that set of mind
and narrow sky above

in strange manga lives.

@while reading "solanin", this lazy sunday

i've just finished reading "solanin" (ソラニン in japanese) and what i really love about it are amazing drawings of the scenery and landscape by Inio Asano, with unbelievable photo touch.

what really engaged me though was the story itself, about average japanese young guys struggling to survive in "the adult world", with all pain and frustration it might involve. almost everyone can recognize their failures, their doubts and uncertainties, all those common things that all common people share.

it's just a "common people life" scenario: big dreams with no big success, craving for love, giving support, with something always being messed up. and it's ok, because a real life looks pretty much like that.

i don't understand a tragic moment which gives the story such a radical twist... is there any message behind? i'm glad that meiko &co got back on the track and i stick to it as my personal "guide line" to read it... between all those shades of gray, try to find your own way and enjoy it...
